These terms cover the Lanterns app and the playable demo on this website. By playing, you agree to them.

Your license

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to play Lanterns for your own enjoyment. The game, its puzzles, art, music, and Pip belong to Goated Entertainment. Akari is a classic puzzle form; every board in Lanterns is our own, generated and verified by us.

Virtual items

• Embers and cosmetics are licensed to you, not owned by you. They have no real-world value and cannot be transferred, traded, or exchanged for money.
• Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds follow Apple's App Store policies — we cannot issue them directly.
• Undo is free forever. That one's a promise, not a term.

Fair play

Don't cheat the daily leaderboard, interfere with our services, or reverse engineer the game. Anonymous leaderboard entries that we determine to be manipulated may be removed.

Availability

We may update, change, or discontinue features — including daily boards, events, and virtual items — at any time. We'll be thoughtful about it; a solo developer's roadmap sometimes bends.

Disclaimers

Lanterns is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Goated Entertainment is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

Termination

You can stop playing any time by deleting the app. We may suspend access for violations of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Goated Entertainment is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits rights you hold under the mandatory laws of your place of residence.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date.
